About the role
As the first lifecycle marketing manager for Shopify Spaces, your primary goal will be to grow the reach and retention of our community programs – an entrepreneurial role with no playbook. You’ll help design and execute a data-obsessed strategy: identifying the right mix of paid and organic channels, running A/B tests, and spotting new opportunities and trends to convert interest into action.
You’ll spend as much time in the data as you do crafting campaigns, studying what motivates people to act and ensuring every single idea ladders up to the bigger picture. As the guardian of our growth engine, you’ll join a team of soulful self-starters who don’t wait for problems to solve – they find them. This role requires business travel between Shopify Spaces in New York and Los Angeles.

Qualifications:
- Experience: In high-growth or startup environment, in lifecycle, growth, or CRM-focused marketing roles
- Data expertise and fluency: Skilled in analyzing data sets, running A/B tests, and deriving actionable insights using tools like Ads Manager, Excel, or data visualization platforms.
- Proven impact: Of designing and executing efforts that drive measurable growth and retention
- Proactive growth mindset: “If I don’t know how to do it, I’ll learn or figure it out.” We want force multipliers, not project completionists.
- Curiosity about user psychology: Strong grasp of what motivates and engages the dynamic e-commerce community IRL and online
- Platform Familiarity: Hands-on experience managing campaigns across email, social, in-product notifications, paid channels, and community platforms (e.g. Reddit, Discord, LinkedIn)
