We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to join the eBay Brand Creative as Lead Videographer. This role is a unique opportunity for a seasoned creative professional to manage and guide a small but mighty video production team, to elevate visual storytelling for eBay’s global brand, and drive the strategic direction of video content production in-house. The ideal candidate is an organized visionary who blends creative expertise with strong leadership skills, and who is capable of shaping and scaling content initiatives that align with eBay’s marketing goals.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the In-House Video Team: Manage and mentor a team of videographers and editors, providing direction, feedback, and growth opportunities to elevate their output.
- Production Strategy: Define and implement production strategies to support global marketing initiatives and resonate with target audiences across platforms (social, website, email, events, internal communications, etc.).
- Creative Direction: Oversee concepting, storyboarding, and creation of high-impact, original video content. Ensure the content is high-quality and consistent with eBay’s brand standards.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with diverse teams—including graphic designers, motion designers, art directors, copywriters, and creative leadership—to ensure cohesive storytelling and seamless integration across channels.
- Drive Innovation in Visual Storytelling: Stay abreast of industry trends, bringing new and innovative ideas to the table. Inspire the team with cutting-edge techniques in shooting, editing, and post-production to continuously push creative boundaries.
- Manage Production Logistics: Oversee the logistics of video shoots, ensuring that all equipment, resources, and personnel are in place. Manage the setup, transportation, and operation of production equipment, including audio and lighting.
- Ensure Quality Control: Lead the editing process, ensuring video segments meet the highest standards for a variety of digital formats. Review footage for quality, consistency, and alignment with brand objectives.
- Video Equipment and Resource Management: Oversee the sourcing, maintenance, and management of video production equipment and software. Ensure the team has the tools they need to execute their vision.
- Reporting & Analytics: Track and report on the success of video campaigns, providing insights on engagement, performance, and ROI to guide future content decisions.
Must-Haves:
- Leadership Experience: At least 10 years of experience leading a team of creatives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment (e.g., agencies, media, or design studios).
- Proven Creative Expertise: A portfolio/reel demonstrating a wide scope of creative experience, with the ability to conceptualize and execute large-scale video campaigns across digital platforms.
- Strong Technical Knowledge: Expertise in shooting, editing, and post-production processes with proficiency in DSLR, RED, Canon, and Sony camera systems. Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Experience working closely with teams across various departments, including marketing, design, and product, to ensure alignment of creative vision and strategic objectives.
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to think strategically about content and audience engagement, using data to inform decisions and refine approaches.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and lead a diverse team.
- Flexibility: A collaborative problem-solving attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Bonus: Additional experience in animation design, conducting interviews, or subject matter expertise in areas like sneakers, collectibles, or motorsports.
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$84,800 – $146,900
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
