This role focuses on managing Shopify’s paid global advertising to unlock scalable campaigns that maximize long-term profit by acquiring new merchants. We are seeking a Marketing Manager to accelerate the performance of our growth channels through experimentation and optimization. This individual contributor role does not include direct people management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quantitative analysis to build hypotheses and drive optimization roadmaps.
  • Manage experimentation across growth channels to drive optimization at scale.
  • Oversee and execute day-to-day operations, including launching tests, reporting, analyzing, and optimizing paid campaigns.
  • Drive new, high-value merchants to the Shopify platform within our efficiency targets globally.
  • Collaborate with data science teams on signal integrations and incrementality studies.
  • Use marketing tech and automation to scale our programs.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing direct response and/or customer acquisition campaigns within marketing media platforms, particularly on social media, display and video channels.
  • Experience taking a channel from 0 to 1, turning them into high-performing efficient programs.
  • Ability to analyze raw data and develop actionable insights related to marketing activity.
  • Understanding of basic statistics and mathematical modeling concepts such as statistical significance, standard deviations, hypothesis testing, and regression analysis.
  • Experience building an experiment roadmap and leading execution to drive measured outcomes.
  • Proven experience in building full-funnel programs that meet efficiency targets, including measurement strategy, creative strategy, and tactic-level strategy for all parts of the funnel.
  • Data visualization skills and the ability to translate complex data concepts into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency with analytics tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, Mode, Tableau, and Google Analytics.
  • Preferred Experience with SQL, with a high-level understanding of databases and how to query them.
