How to Change a WordPress Password in cPanel

If you can’t login to the admin of a WordPress website – perhaps you can’t reset your password or are taking over a website and don’t have the proper login credentials – you can change a password in cPanel.

Once logged into your cPanel, click on phpMyAdmin under Databases. On the left-hand side of the page, click on the WordPress structure. You will then see a long list of tables on the right-hand side. You will need to update wp-users.

Click on wp-users. Then, find the user that you would like to update and click on Edit. In the user_pass section, select MD5 from the Function dropdown and then enter your new password in the Value field. Click the Go button to save your new password.

Now, if you go back to your WordPress admin login page, you can use your new login credentials.
