How to Add a Privacy Policy to Your Shopify Store
It’s important to include a Privacy Policy on your website. Privacy Policies are legally required by global policy laws if you use and/or collect your visitors’ personal data. Personal data may include but is not limited to the user’s name, email address, gender, mailing address, credit card information and more.
At the bottom left of your Shopify admin, click on Settings. Then, click on Legal.

Scroll down to the Privacy Policy section. Shopify provides a free premade template that you can use. Simply click on the Create From Template button.

You will need to go through and replace any text in capital letters that are found within “[“ and “]” throughout the privacy policy as this copy is specific to your store/company. In some cases, it’s just a matter of deleting or slightly altering the text.

Be sure to include an email where users can reach you under the Contact section at the bottom of the privacy policy.
Once you’re done, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the Save button.
In addition to setting up the Privacy Policy, you will also need to setup a Refund Policy and Terms of Service.
