Senior Communications Manager

Coinbase is looking for a Senior Communications Manager to lead Consumer Product Communications. This role is ideal for someone passionate about crypto, deeply knowledgeable about communications strategy for consumer crypto products, and to take an unconventional approach to comms.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties): 

• Strategic Communication Leadership: Develop and execute compelling communications strategies to elevate Coinbase’s consumer product suite with MSM (and old school approaches) and with new media or going direct to customers,
• Media Relations: Engage proactively with media, leveraging strong relationships and innovative approaches to amplify Coinbase’s messaging. Experience in killing stories is as important as driving headlines.
• Social Media Expertise: Actively monitor and engage across social media platforms, bringing fresh ideas and direct engagement strategies to build trust and excitement among our audiences.
• Messaging and Narrative Development: Craft clear, impactful, and user-focused narratives that resonate across channels and drive alignment with Coinbase’s mission.
• Innovation in Media: Identify and implement new media ideas, ensuring Coinbase remains at the forefront of communications trends.

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

• 10+ years of relevant communications experience at either a PR agency or an in-house communications team.
• Crypto-Native Expertise: A deep understanding of crypto, active participation in crypto communities, and a passion for Coinbase’s mission.
• Proven Communications Experience: Demonstrated excellence in consumer-focused communications, including strong messaging, narrative pull-through, and measurable outcomes.
• Consumer Product Knowledge: Experience with consumer products, with a focus on user-centric storytelling and solving customer problems.
• Creative Problem-Solving: Ability to innovate repeatable communications strategies that engage and excite users.
• Social Media Savvy: Proven track record of driving impactful engagement on social platforms with a direct, authentic, and engaging voice.
