We are looking for a strong Product Marketing Manager to own the marketing and growth of Coinbase Commerce, a product that enables merchants and developers to accept cheaper, faster, global, and transparent payments powered by crypto rails. Commerce sits within Coinbase Developer Platform (CDP), our team building the developer tools to bring the world onchain.

You will be the driving force behind how we take our onchain payments product to market. From gathering competitive intelligence, to spending time with clients to understand why they love (or don’t love) our product to crafting compelling messaging and positioning to launching features into the market. We encourage you to experiment and move fast, helping to shape the future of global payments. With knowledge of the payments and onchain spaces, and a deep understanding of merchants and developers, you will have the opportunity to craft and lead marketing pushes and bring our payments narrative to life.

Coinbase Developer Platform is a small team that moves like a startup at Coinbase, with a fast pace, strong ownership culture, and a relentless commitment to making developers happy. Today, we know onchain development is slow, risky, and painful, even for the most experienced onchain developers. Our goal is to bring a million developers onchain by creating an easy to use and trusted developer experience. We build API and SDK products for developers that need wallets, paymaster, staking, stablecoins, onchain data, and more.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

  • Responsible for the development and execution of Coinbase Commerce’s integrated marketing strategy and related developer-focused products and services
  • Be the voice of the customer and trusted advisor as to how current and future clients’ needs inform product messaging, brand differentiation, marketing content, and tactics
  • Craft compelling narratives and messaging that resonate with merchants, developers, and end-users, turning crypto payments into something intuitive and exciting.
  • Develop and lead successful product launches, developer activation/retention programs and marketing/GTM campaigns
  • Develop compelling marketing collateral including event presentations, one-pagers, case studies, webinars, and websites
  • Build and manage activations and partnerships that drive adoption and awareness of our product
  • Work cross-functionally with product, business development, design, engineering, communications, and customer support to help build our customer pipeline and achieve world-class developer acquisition and retention rates
  • Measure and report against the performance of product marketing initiatives
  • Think big about the future of onchain payments and how we can bring merchants and developers onchain more quickly
  • Work with product to drive rapid experimentation across channels to identify and double down on what works.

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements): 

  • 2+ years of experience in product marketing for at a payments, stablecoin, or fintech company, as well as experience within the onchain ecosystem
  • A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership, and has an entrepreneurial mindset
  • A proven ability to execute relentlessly, moving quickly from strategy to action and delivering high-impact results
  • A strong understanding of and passion for blockchain technology
  • Able to speak the language of a wide range of personas, from end users to onchain developers and enterprises
  • Powerful storyteller: written, verbal, and visual
  • Demonstrated track record of creating campaigns to drive new customer acquisition, build community, deepen engagement & retention
  • Advanced quantitative and deductive skills. Ability to run experiments, distinguish between the signal and the noise and make data-guided actions
  • Outstanding project management skills
  • Ability to come up to speed on technical topics quickly
  • Ability to form strong relationships with a product team and cross-functional partners

Nice to haves:

  • Experience authoring blogs
  • Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools to create quick, impactful marketing assets

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).
Pay Range: $105,400$124,000 USD
